Senior Service Manager of Operations

The Opportunity
We are searching for a passionate and seasoned Senior Service Manager of Operations to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for an operations leader who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is dedicated to delivering high-quality care while managing a diverse team of caregivers. If you’re adaptable, open-minded, organized, and a natural leader, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work from home while staying available for on-site needs. Although core hours are Monday to Friday, additional hours and on-call responsibilities may be required to support your team and clients effectively.

What will you do?

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of client care and team management, ensuring that all services are delivered at the highest standards.
  • Team Development: Mentor, coach, and support your team by providing ongoing training, feedback, and accountability. Lead with empathy and drive team success.
  • Problem Solving: Be the point of escalation for client and employee issues, maintaining a positive, solutions-driven environment.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with agencies, families, legal representatives, hospitals, and other stakeholders to meet the individual needs of each client.
  • Compliance & Monitoring: Ensure all service agreements and placements comply with industry regulations, maintaining Entrust’s commitment to care excellence.
  • Reporting & Investigations: Compose professional reports, conduct internal investigations, and provide recommendations to drive improvements and maintain standards.
  • Technology Integration: Use systems such as Salesforce and UKG to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.

What are we looking for?

  • Education: Post-secondary education in Business, Hospitality, Human Services, or a related field is an asset.
  • Leadership Experience: Prior experience managing diverse teams, especially in care or operations, is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a strong asset.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and prioritization skills, with the ability to navigate regulatory requirements.
  • People-Focused Leadership: Proven ability to build trust-based relationships and foster collaboration.

People and Culture Manager

We are seeking a resilient, pragmatic, and adaptable People & Culture Manager to join our growing team of 1,000 employees, i.e., our Entrusters, across Alberta. Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, you will have a pivotal role in building leadership capabilities and supporting our organizational objectives.

This is not a typical HR role – you are a key player in our highly capable, pioneering team, driving our ambitious People and Culture initiatives and fostering a positive and high-performing workplace where people come first.

Position: People and Culture Manager
Location: Hybrid (In-office once to twice a week/remote)
Compensation: $97,000 – $125,000 annually

What You’ll Do?

• Impactful Leadership: Lead a dynamic team of 5 – 6 People & Culture Business Partners and Generalists, providing regular supervision, guidance, and individual development opportunities.
• Operational Strategy: Collaborate closely with the Director of People and Culture to develop and execute innovative people and culture initiatives aligned with our organizational goals.
• Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage your tech-savvy expertise in HRIS, ATS, and LMS to optimize our systems, create dashboards, and ensure data-informed decision-making.
• Employee Relations: Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of complex employee relations issues with a fair and balanced approach, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and employment standards.
• Union Relationship: Be the main point of contact for Union Stewards and Representatives. Resolve complex labor relations issues, participate in collective bargaining, and create win-win solutions that inspire collaboration and trust with CLAC.
• HR Disciplines: Oversee various HR functions and provide leadership in performance management, employee engagement, and compensation management.
• Employment Law Proficiency: Thorough knowledge and interpretation of the Alberta Employment Standards Code, OHS Act and Code, Alberta Human Rights Act, Workers’ Compensation Act, and Alberta Labor Relations Code. Thorough understanding and interpretation of Job Protected Leaves in Alberta.
• Policy Advocacy: Draft and refine policies to promote a fair, equitable, and supportive work culture while navigating the complexities of labour relations.
• Employee Benefits: Lead the automation of benefits administration through UKG.
• Workplace Investigations: Conduct thorough workplace investigations, present thoughtful recommendations, and train BPs on navigating complex investigations.

What We Are Looking For?

• Growth mindset with demonstrated ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field is required.
• CPHR and/or SHRM-SCP professional designation is required.
• Tech Enthusiast with extensive experience with HRIS systems is required. Experience in UKG is preferred.
• Passion for increased productivity, data-informed decision-making, and quantifying the ROI of People Initiatives.
• Proven ability to inspire others and be a trusted change agent with a can-do attitude.
• Demonstrated passion and experience in building talent density across Entrust.
• Demonstrated understanding of the Eisenhower Matrix related to time management, priority, and delegation.
• Previous experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
• In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations in Alberta
• Ability to provide guidance to resolve escalated employee relations issues with tact.
• Strategic Negotiator skilled in win-win negotiations, especially in union environments, to maintain harmonious labor relations.
• Strong commitment to personal development and staying current with HR best practices.

  • You are passionate about being an advocate for our individuals as well as ensuring their daily needs are met.
  • You take pride in providing Personal Care in a dignified and private manner including administering medication and/or communicating health concerns.
  • Attend/follow up with medical appointments, and administer First Aid as needed.
  • Engage in home maintenance activities i.e., cleaning, laundry, decorating, etc. while encouraging individuals to participate to their best ability.
  • Support individuals with their goals to participate in productive or skill development by determining their vocational interests. As well as ensuring they are supported in the pursuit of leisure activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • We are looking for candidates who can work flexible full and part-time shifts ranging from 20-40 hours per week, with a minimum of a high school diploma.
  • Experience in supporting individuals with complex behaviours is considered an asset.
  • Police Clearance
  • Child & Youth Intervention Record Check
  • Intermediate First Aid / CPR Level C Certification.
    • These documents must be satisfactory to Entrusts standards.
    • These documents must be obtained pre-hire and considered the financial responsibility of the candidate.

This position does require the caregiver to be able to drive clients. Therefore, a valid class 5 driver’s license, along with a reliable vehicle, current registration and vehicle insurance with $2M liability with insurance confirmation of client transport is required.
