How Liberty Security Partners with Entrust to Make a Difference

Liberty Security provides comprehensive security systems, home automation technology, and energy management solutions to residential, commercial and health care customers across Canada. Over the course of the last couple years, Liberty's Edmonton office has successfully employed 3 individuals with developmental disabilities. These employees participate in Entrust's Framework for Life Program, which connects people with disabilities to meaningful employment opportunities.

Liberty became an Employer Partner after installing the security system for the Entrust head office in Edmonton. The security company quickly became intrigued with Entrust's disability services organization. Liberty wanted to learn more about Entrust's work supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. The conversation started about how Liberty could get involved by offering Meaningful Employment opportunities through their partnership.

Liberty representatives sat down with Entrust team member, Rory, who specializes in employment placement services. Together they began creating a comprehensive employment plan with clearly defined job roles, specific responsibilities, and a structured work schedule. It soon became clear for Liberty that this inclusive hiring process was going to be straightforward. The partnership would provide benefits for everyone involved in the program.

Meaningful Employment Success Story

Colin is currently working with Liberty Security through the Framework for Life Program. With his dedicated Entrust Mentor accompanying him during work shifts, Colin works at Liberty's Edmonton office twice a week for 3-hour shifts. Colin is always excited to come to work each day. He enjoys spending time with his co-workers over lunch break and building workplace relationships. He is a great addition to the Liberty team. His positive attitude is infectious and creates a welcoming work environment!

Colin provides valuable assistance in the general maintenance and administrative operations of Liberty's office. During his scheduled shifts, he ensures the shop workspace looks professional and organized. Colin maintains the front lawn landscaping and keeps the large front windows clean and spotless. He keeps the office space generally tidy and organized. Colin also has proven to be a reliable asset in helping Liberty with general office administration duties. His tasks include filing important documents, managing office stock supplies, conducting inventory counting, and handling document scanning operations.

Working with Rory at Entrust made it easy for Liberty to develop a specialized position for someone with a developmental disability. Everyone at the Liberty Edmonton office would agree that the inclusive employment experience has been nothing but positive for the company culture.
