Disability Services: Meaningful Employment

Apr 06, 2016

It's our second week featuring an employer who uses Entrust Disability Services Framework for Life Program.

Tamara Konopelky, founder and CEO of Green Thumb Landscaping shares her story:

I come from a family of entrepreneurs. My Grandparents, aunts, uncles, mom and my dad have all dealt with the rewards and struggles of owing a business. I have always had an eye for design and I thought I could be great at designing and creating customized landscapes for clients.

When I started Green Thumb Landscaping I wanted to create a landscape, construction and design company that would provide excellent customer service and outstanding quality. I wanted to give clients the piece of mind and comfort of knowing that they were in good hands when they booked with us. And in the 7 years that I have been growing my company those standards have always been a priority for us.

As we continue to grow as a company, more job site duties are always becoming available. When I met Rory with Entrust and he described their employment program to me, I knew that we would be a great match for an individual with disability trying to find employment! We had a young man join our team in 2015 and he was always very excited to learn and to be working as a team. My crew and I really enjoy his energy, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Entrust has a fantastic program and we are currently working with Entrust to hire more individuals for the upcoming 2016 season.
